Fund raising consultants, investment bankers, security guards, marketing teams, publicists, and more. Pastors seem to love business men that can tell them how to grow their enterprise. We have trillions of dollars of assets, from cash in the bank, to real estate holdings, to side business, to precious artwork.
Not to mention politics and how much we seem to be more loyal to politicians then we are to Jesus. You ever pledge allegiance to New Jerusalem?
As the world gets more and more fractured - and likes it that way - we musn't allow ourselves to be drawn into those fights. He calls us to be a holy people, separated unto Him. Romans 12;1-2 says that what He wants from us is not cathedrals and purpose driven programs and endless committees and plans. What he wants is for us to lay up on the altar naked, so that He can cut our head off, graft His head on - and then we'll know what is the Good, Pleasing and Pefect will of God. So we can go do the Perfect will!
