The Dragon Slayer - from "Tenacity" Print E-mail

I read "The Red Dragon" 4 or 5 weeks ago and was blessed by it. I saw the banner for The Red Dragon tonight and the Lord prompted me to post this vision. I had this vision 16 years ago. It never occurred to me that this vision might be related somehow to the "Red dragon" until tonight.

The Dragon Slayer - A Vision

I was a 12 year old child standing in full armor, sword in hand, facing this huge dragon which stood probably 15 feet high. The background was completely white except for the dragon and I. I was trying to be brave, but felt very threatened.

The dragon was throwing insults and threats at me and telling me all about the terrible things that he was going to do to me. He was being quite effective in his attempt to intimidate me. He looked menacing and I was sure he could swallow me whole in one bite. Although I was scared, I was trying to hold my ground and be brave. The threats continued and I ducked trying to avoid the heat of his breath alone.

In the heat of his verbal assault he suddenly stopped as if waiting for me to give some kind of response and I knew it was my turn. I stumbled for words. Nothing was there. I was speechless. I looked at him. He looked down at me. I looked away. Grasping at straws I felt like I had to force myself to say something, anything, I couldn't let him continue unchecked like this.  I said, "well, well," then with red-faced embarrassment, like a child who is being picked on by the bully I said, "well, I'm gonna go get my big brother and he will show you." I then ran out of the scene and quickly returned with my big brother (Jesus) right behind me.

Jesus stood about a head taller than me and looked strong and confident and this raised my confidence considerably. "Hah, what are you going to do about that, you big ugly dragon?", I thought, bordering on cockiness. The dragon looked at Jesus who was standing behind me but then his gaze started lifting higher. Out of curiosity I glanced behind me to see what the dragon was looking at and I could see that Jesus now stood at least 2 feet taller than before. Woohoo! I was thrilled. "You better just look out," I thought to myself as I faced the dragon once again. That dragon didn't even notice me but his gaze was still rising skyward. I turned back around  and realized that Jesus now stood at least 40 stories high. I stood and watched as he grew bigger and taller.

The dragon suddenly didn't seem as important to me as the spectacle that was beside me. Jesus continued to grow until he was not even discernible as having any human form whatsoever. His body began to dissipate into what seemed like a cloud and then this cloud began to spin into a terrible tornado. I could sense the awesome power that was God. Looking toward the dragon I could see that he was still standing defiantly. The tail of the tornado began to sharpen to a point and without warning it lifted off of the ground above me and shot straight down into me, right down through the top of my head.

The very next instant I was standing on top of the dragon with the sword I had been carrying driven right through his head, as it pinned him dead, to the ground.
