Maybe we could
do what Jesus wants for a change? Yeah, that'd be nice.

-- Letter to
the Elders of Liberty
Dear Brethren,
This month has
definitely seen massive escalations in the movement in the spiritual
realms! I don't know what it's been like where you are, but it's been
a wild ride around here! For a good chunk of the month it felt like
everything was just holding it's breath to see what was going to
happen. But in the last week or so there has been MASSIVE resistance.
Please continue to
pray for the unity of the Body of Christ on the local level and pray
for us here in Liberty. I continue to see evidence that something big
is happening here and that it's all about to break open. More on that below.
In the last few
weeks we've had folks from this email list come for prayer and/or
deliverance from three different states. We've had countless calls
and emails from around the world. We're now in contact with about a
dozen city church efforts or individuals around the world.
Particularly, see below where we discuss one effort in Kenya with
which you might be able to help.
With all our love
and prayers,
Doug

Smith Wigglesworth
used to say that he wanted to be crammed full of Jesus - so full that
nothing else could fit! I prayed that the Lord would give me
something so clear and simple that it would be easy to explain to anyone.
There has been a
lot of fighting within the Body of Christ about the "Baptism in
the Holy Spirit" - what it is, when it happens, what it looks
like, etc. I don't fight about that. I just figure we need to take
seriously all of the instructions to be "filled with the Holy
Spirit" and figure it's a constant, ongoing, daily thing.
You see, you don't
get filled once at salvation and stay a little full, but just put up
with the sin in you. And you don't go down the aisle at a Pentecostal
church, get full and stay that way.
People ask if I'm
"Spirit-filled." I say, "Well, do you mean I had an
experience at some point where I started speaking in tongues -OR- do
you mean I'm crammed so full of the Holy Spirit that nothing else
will fit and I'm dead and it's Christ in me that lives and He is
directing my paths?" Cause it's not at ALL the same thing. I
know some folks that speak in tongues that are REAL far from being
"full" of the Holy Spirit!
If you get a
chance, please read the article linked below and see the attached
graphics. This little flyer has produced MUCH fruit and been
invaluable in explaining to people their need for more Jesus and
showing them how to daily walk in holiness. And it just doesn't apply
to people. How is the "cup" of your local congregation? How
is the "cup" of your town?
If there is
anything that I would say is unique about what is happening here in
Liberty it is this; we know how to help people get their cup cleaned
out and get a bigger cup of Jesus. We get to do that pretty much
every day around here.
If you're passing
through, stop by and let's pray. We'll help you find out if there
might be something holding you back, help you rip it loose or lay it
down and ask the Lord to bless you with more of Himself. I think
that's the best gift you could ever give anybody!

Letter to the
Elders of Liberty
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last week a letter
went out to the "Elders" of the Church of Liberty. These
were the pastors of the 43 local congregations, plus leaders of
ministries and some other lay persons that we've met that are Godly
spiritual leaders in town - whether or not they are in official
"roles" or on staff in a congregation. You can read the
letter at the link below. It outlines what I've observed in a year of
visiting different congregations and what we're seeing God do in Liberty.
So far there is
basically ZERO response. Even the folks that have been supportive of
us in general have been completely unresponsive on this so far. Of
the three meetings to come talk and see what we're doing - one lay
person with whom we've had contact for awhile stopped by.
In Acts 19, Paul
went to the synagogues first, then after three months took his
message to the school of Tyrannus - basically out into the
"world". That's when things really started moving. I think
in Liberty it's time to take it to the streets as well.
