Dear Brethren,
We believe that a
new season started on January 30th. Something just shifted into a
higher gear. It's not the first shift and it won't be the last. I
think we need to prepare ourselves for ever-increasing accelerations
and escalations in the work of God around us.
In the last few
weeks we have been coming into contact with more and more people who
are being called by God to restore the Body of Christ in their city
or town. Just as we've been doing in Liberty, this is not about
CREATING or establishing a new "church"! The "Church
of Liberty" has existed for as long as there have been
Christians in Liberty, Missouri. All we're doing it trying to get
them on the same page and under Christ's headship.
I believe more
firmly than ever that it doesn't take a coordinated effort with lots
of people across "denominations". What it takes is for
SOMEONE to stand in the gap.
We finally got a
document prepared that outlines in broad strokes what this is all
about and how to bring it to your town. I think there is NOTHING more
important right now than restoring the Body of Christ. We're to KEEP
the unity of the faith. It's not an automatic thing. We have to work
at it. And right now it looks like nobody is trying very hard at all.
Maybe that's what
God is calling you to do in your town. We'd love to help.

How do we
restore the City Churches?

In the last
e-newsletter I talked about "Why the City Church?" If you
get that we ARE one body whether we like it or not and we probably
should start ACTING like it - the obvious next question is, "How
the heck do we DO it?"
We have divided up
and factioned off for so long that it may require MASSIVE retraining
for some folks. Frankly, I put most of my hope on the "Wilderness
Christians" and those who have NO background in
"church" at all. They just want to worship God and don't
want to be distracted with seminary technicalities.
Below is a link to
a document I just finished that summarizes Watchman Nee's (and my)
opinions on the City Church and provides some action plan for how to
restore the Body of Christ in your town. I believe that even as few
as ONE person is sufficient to get it started - but they better be
walking in holiness, totally led by the Holy Spirit and willing to
die for it.
If you hunger and
thirst for the restoration of the Body of Christ, if you weep and
grieve that Jesus' LAST prayer before crucifixion (in John 17) that
we be ONE as He and the Father are one is still unanswered - you may
be the right kind of person for this assignment.
Have you ever
prayed the prayer of Moses? "Blot me out of Your Book, but don't
turn Your back on Your people." Or the prayer of Paul? "Even
unto my own salvation if only the Jews would hear the Gospel."
Or the prayer of Jesus? "Crucify me, but let them be ONE."
Can you pray that? That's what it's going to take.
If you've got
yourself and your family in divine order under His headship, then
maybe it's time to take your town. The weapons of war we have are
mighty - and they're always used FIRST to bring the Body of Christ
into obedience. That's what we need right about now. And lots of it!
Please click on
the link and go read the short e-book online or print it off. Forward
it to anyone as the Lord leads. Reading this will probably also go a
long way to showing you why what we've BEEN doing hasn't worked and
WILL NEVER work. If you've been hurt by the religious establishment
what you need to understand is that God probably doesn't even
recognize that as a church at all. We're so far away from the
Biblical model that people can't even get their heads around how
screwed up we've gotten. This document should help.
This is what's
coming. Nothing short of the restoration of the Body of Christ. I
don't know how many are going to make it through the shaking and
sifting that's coming, but it's going to be fun to watch how God does it.

We don't have
regular meeting times because we don't think it's a good idea to
"program" God. But He called a meeting for Tuesday, so if
He says it's OK for you to come, we'd love to have you there!
I think in the
near future we're going to be having meetings almost all the time at
the shop. Musicians are starting to show up and want a place to
worship and fellowship together. Some really annointed artists,
poets, singers, and others have been sent to Liberty, Missouri for
what's coming.
Also, we believe
that there will be a much larger event later this Spring (probably
April) that will involve MANY people. We're already hearing from
individuals and ministries that have spontaneously been told they are
going to be here about that time to help with something. We'll see
what happens. It's gonna be a fun ride!
